Maratonul Sării

The Salt Marathon is a sporting event that combines running and mountain biking, held in the natural and historic landscape of Târgu Ocna, Bacău County. Participants can choose between trail running races of 10 km and 21 km, as well as a 30 km mountain biking race, all starting and finishing in the Town Hall Square. A unique element of the competition is traversing a 7 km segment through the underground galleries of the Târgu Ocna Salt Mine, offering an unusual experience and health benefits due to the ionized air. The event promotes an active and responsible lifestyle towards nature, involving also plogging activities for trail ecological cleanup.

Start and finish in the Town Hall Square, Târgu Ocna. The mountain bike race takes place on Sunday, June 14, 2026, and the trail run races on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Payment is made exclusively by card at the time of registration. The event includes plogging activities for trail ecological cleanup. The routes include trail and mountain bike zones, with online registration and card payment available.
