Race description
The Salt Marathon is a sporting event combining running and mountain biking, held amid the natural and historic landscape of Târgu Ocna, Bacău County. Participants can choose between 10 km and 21 km trail-running races, as well as a 30 km mountain-bike race, all starting and finishing in Piața Primăriei. A unique feature of the competition is a 7 km stretch through the underground galleries of Târgu Ocna Salt Mine, offering an unusual experience and health benefits thanks to the ionized air. The event promotes an active lifestyle and respect for nature, and also includes plogging activities to clean up the routes.
