Oslea Run ~ 2026

Oslea Run is a mountain running competition held in the Retezat and Vâlcan Mountains, in the area of the Oslea, Paltina and Piatra Iorgovanului massifs, organized by Clubul Alpin Valea Jiului. The event continues the tradition of mountain running in the area, offering four daytime races that showcase spectacular routes surrounded by nature, where Retezat and Domogled-Valea Cernei National Parks meet. Participants enjoy an authentic outdoor experience, with prizes, race kits and related activities such as tastings and socializing.

Race kits can be collected between 16:00 and 22:00 on the day before the race and between 7:00 and 8:00 on race day. Starts are scheduled for 8:00 for the Scorota route and 9:00 for the Paltina, Oslea and Șarba routes. Participants receive a limited-edition cap, a finisher medal, aid stations along the route, individual timing, wine tasting, access to the campsite and a traditional dinner. Practical first-aid courses and photography exhibitions are also organized. Prizes are awarded to the top three in the men's and women's open categories, as well as in the age categories. The race is 26 km long, with approximately 2,000 metres of elevation gain, and is recognized as a landmark trail-running event in Romania. Participation includes access to accommodation areas and information about the race kit.
