Rodnei Sky Race

Rodnei Sky Race is a mountain running competition held in the Rodnei Mountains, in the Borșa area, Maramureș. The event offers three distinct routes, adapted for different experience levels: the Puzdrelor route, the most difficult, intended for experienced runners; the Gărgălău route, a medium challenge for prepared runners; and the Musceta route, a fast trail with a large descent difference. The race is part of the Carpathian Circuit and emphasizes the experience of running in nature, among spectacular mountain landscapes. Organizers invite families and mountain sports enthusiasts to participate in an active outdoor weekend.

The race location is Borșa, in the Rodnei Mountains, a mountain area with spectacular landscapes and a tradition in mountain sports. There are multiple accommodation options near the start, from guesthouses to campgrounds, at distances ranging from 190 m to 17.6 km from the start. The routes combine marked and unmarked trails, forest roads, and steep slopes, offering an authentic mountain running experience. The race is part of the Mountain Running Circuit of the Carpathians. The mountain trail requires mandatory equipment checks, starting from the Borșa cable car base, with GPX download, and information about accommodations and registrations. Fees include hydration points, photos, goulash, and parking access.
