OSLEA RUN

Oslea Run is a mountain-running competition held in the Retezat and Vâlcan Mountains, in the area of the Oslea, Paltina and Piatra Iorgovanului massifs. Organized by Clubul Alpin Valea Jiului, the event continues the local tradition of mountain running, offering four daytime races that showcase spectacular routes amid nature, where Retezat and Domogled-Valea Cernei National Parks meet. Participants enjoy an authentic outdoor experience, with challenging routes and impressive scenery. The event also includes a children’s race, as well as related social and cultural activities.

Race kits can be picked up from 16:00 to 22:00 on the day before the event and from 7:00 to 8:00 on race day. The Scorota route starts at 8:00, while the Paltina, Oslea and Șarba routes start at 9:00. All participants who finish within the time limit receive a finisher’s medal and a limited-edition cap. There are support stations along the route and at the finish, individual timing with online results, access to a wine tasting and a traditional dinner, an ambulance at the start/finish, and access to workshops and a social area with a campfire and live music. The event takes place on mountain and nature trails, with accommodation available in the Valea Iarului area and other facilities for participants.
